Khelo MP

The Khelo MP Youth Games were inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohan Yadav, at the Water Sports Academy, Boat Club, Upper Lake, Bhopal. The 19-day sporting event featured competitions across 28 sports disciplines and brought together young sportspersons from different parts of Madhya Pradesh. The Games were organised with the objective of providing young athletes with a competitive platform to showcase their talent and gain valuable sporting experience. Competitions were conducted at district and state levels, with participation from athletes representing 313 development blocks and 10 divisions of the state — Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar, Rewa, Chambal, Narmadapuram and Shahdol. A special feature of the Khelo MP Youth Games was the inclusion of traditional Indian sports such as Pittu and Tug of War along with popular disciplines including Cricket, Hockey, Athletics, Football, Boxing, Badminton, Wrestling and other sports. Competitions were hosted across major sporting centres including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Rewa, Narmadapuram and Sagar, with events also proposed at Shivpuri. To encourage sporting excellence, prize money of ₹31,000, ₹21,000 and ₹11,000 was awarded for the first, second and third positions respectively. The Khelo MP Youth Games represent a significant state-level initiative to promote sports participation, identify emerging talent and strengthen the sporting culture among the youth of Madhya Pradesh.
