About Sports Department

The department of Sports and Youth Welfare is committed to provide the players of Madhya Pradesh, both from rural and urban areas, with comprehensive facilities and state-of-the-art infrastructure, in an effort to overall enhance their performance and prospects. The government of Madhya Pradesh is making every possible effort for the evolution of sports in Madhya Pradesh with an ambition to bring more laurels to the state.

about us

 Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, MP created a blueprint in the year 2005 to make Madhya Pradesh a pioneer in the field of sports.

 The Department envisioned world-class sports academies and established them since 2007 to identify the sports talent at the grassroots level and provide ultra-modern training facilities.

 Today, the department provides the finest sports training environment and enhance the tactical and technical skills of athletes by giving a platform to participate in top-rated national and international tournaments.

 The sole aim is to bring more and more medals and laurels to the state and the country.

Major achievements in Olympics, Asian Games, and various international competitions

 Kapil Parmar, a blind judo player from Madhya Pradesh State Judo Academy, won a gold medal at the iBAS JUDO GRAND PRIX ANTALYA in Turkey and has been selected for the Paris Paralympics 2024.

 At the 21st Asian Junior (Under-20) Athletics Championship in Dubai, players from the M.P. State Athletics Academy won 2 medals. Dev Meena won a bronze medal in the pole vault and will represent India at the Under-20 World Cup in Lima, Peru.

 Players from the M.P. State Taekwondo Academy won 17 medals in the senior and junior categories at the Taekwondo Champion of Champions Competition in Haryana.

 Athletes from Madhya Pradesh State Athletics Academy won a total of 9 medals, including 4 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze at the 22nd National Junior (Under-20) Federation Athletics Championship. Ekta Dey set a new national record in the 3000m steeplechase event.

 Para-athlete Rajni Jha from the M.P. State Kayaking-Canoeing Academy qualified for the Paralympics in Paris at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup and Paracanoe World Championship.

 Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Aashi Chouksey from the M.P. State Shooting Academy secured the top and third positions respectively in the 50m 3 Position Rifle event at the Olympic Games 2024 selection trials.

 Players from M.P. Sailing Academy won 2 medals at the Senior National Sailing Championship 2024 in Mumbai.

 Dev Meena from the Athletics Academy won a silver medal at the Athletics Open Championship & World Athletics Continental Tour in Taiwan.

 Kanishka Sharma from the Sports Academy won a gold medal at the 7th National Para Taekwondo Championship in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

 Players from Madhya Pradesh won 3 medals at the 22nd Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship (Rifle/Pistol) held in Bhopal.

Identify, develop and prepare student-athletes to be a world-class sports person and provide them with a foundation for success. Enhance the tactical and technical skills of Academy athletes through participation in top-rated national and international tournaments.
