About Sports Department

The department of Sports and Youth Welfare is committed to provide the players of Madhya Pradesh, both from rural and urban areas, with comprehensive facilities and state-of-the-art infrastructure, in an effort to overall enhance their performance and prospects. The government of Madhya Pradesh is making every possible effort for the evolution of sports in Madhya Pradesh with an ambition to bring more laurels to the state.

about us

 Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, MP created a blueprint in the year 2005 to make Madhya Pradesh a pioneer in the field of sports.

 The Department envisioned world-class sports academies and established them since 2007 to identify the sports talent at the grassroots level and provide ultra-modern training facilities.

 Today, the department provides the finest sports training environment and enhance the tactical and technical skills of athletes by giving a platform to participate in top-rated national and international tournaments.

 The sole aim is to bring more and more medals and laurels to the state and the country.

Major achievements in Olympics, Asian Games, and various international competitions

 At the IOA Optimist World Championship from June 15, 2023, to June 25, 2023, held in Buzan, South Korea, Eklavya Batham, Miss Shagun Jha, and Miss Astha Pandey made notable participation.

 In the 19th Asian Games (Sailing) from September 23, 2023, to October 8, 2023, held in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, Miss Neha Thakur won a silver medal in the 6-category event. Miss Harshita Tomar and Sheetal Verma secured fourth place in the 49er event.

 In the 19th Asian Games (Kayaking Canoeing) from September 23, 2023, to October 8, 2023, held in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, Arjunsingh won a bronze medal in the C2 event.

 In the 19th Asian Games (Canoe Slalom) from September 23, 2023, to October 8, 2023, held in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, Hitesh Kevat, Vishal Verma, Shubham Kevat, and Shikha Chauhan made commendable participation.

 In the 19th Asian Games (Rowing) from September 23, 2023, to October 8, 2023, held in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, Rukmani Dangi made commendable participation.

 At the Under-23 Asian Canoe and Para Canoe Championship from April 22, 2023, to May 1, 2023, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Arjun Singh and Neeraj Verma won 2 silver medals in the team event. Ms. Prachi Yadav won 3 gold, 1 silver in the Para Canoe event, and Manish Kaurav won 2 gold medals in the Para Canoe event.

 In the Junior Asian Canoe and Para Canoe Championship from April 22, 2023, to May 1, 2023, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Nitin Verma won 1 silver, Arjun Singh won 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze, and Nitin Verma, Kanan KR Rimsan Marembam won 1 silver in the team event, Shivani Verma won 2 gold, 1 silver medals.

 In the Para Asian Games (Kayaking Canoeing) from October 22, 2023, to October 28, 2023, held in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, Ms. Prachi Yadav won 1 gold, 1 silver, and Manish Kaurav won 1 bronze medal.

 In the Asian Canoe Slalom Junior and Under-23 Championship, Open ICF Ranking Competition from May 19, 2023, to May 21, 2023, held in Rayong, Thailand, Miss Shikha Chauhan, Bhumi Baghel won 1 silver in the team event, and Miss Aahna Yadav won 1 silver medal.

 In the 11th Sultan of Johor Cup from October 23, 2023, to November 4, 2023, held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, Abdul Ahad won a silver medal.
